The field of Forensic Science is a complex, challenging, and intriguing area of study. This training manual is directed toward the master level and Ph.D. candidate in Forensic Psychology or MSW candidate interested in the Forensic field as well as for the Masters or Ph.D. degreed Forensic Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker. The manual is not meant to be an in-depth comprehensive contextual review of the topic areas listed. The manual does, however, provide a broad exploratory review of necessary areas of study for the entry level, mid-career, and senior level Forensic practitioner. The following areas are provided: foundational concepts of Forensic Science; skill sets needed for the Forensic practitioner; examination of the concepts of Psychological Trauma and Victimology; Object Relations theory as a theoretical schema for the developmental diagnostic formulation of the Narcissistic Psychopath of the criminal serial killer, serial rapist, and financial scammer; victim and perpetrator psychological profiles; historical timelines of social and political movements of victimology and psychological trauma; the military population and combat trauma; potential of vicarious trauma for the Forensic practitioner; and the ethical standards of conduct for the Forensic practitioner.
