MilliMoms

each street in the village of New Holland, Georgia
–a cotton mill community. These women were
mothers to more than just their own children.
They loved the village and dedicated their lives
to making New Holland a safe and wonderful
place to live.

It became necessary for many of these ladies to
work in the mill and often fill-in and substitute for
their husbands when necessary. Whether it was
because of war, natural disaster, disease,
economic collapse, or accidents, these women
answered the call to persevere. They tried to
maintain normalcy whenever the family unit was
threatened. The MilliMoms are irreplaceable and
certainly unmatched.
