Description
Our Pinson Heritage is more than a compilation of family names and relationships. It reveals often overlooked practices of colonial era descendants of Scots-Irish immigrants and their settlements along the Appalachian mountains over three centuries. Unheralded contributions to the development of Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia are mentioned. Participants of the American Revolution are revealed, and sketches of family members proving their patriotism through WWI and WWII are included. A notable accomplishment of the author was locating and using original documents of productive and lasting family relationships – births, marriages, wills and inheritances, land ownership, church building, and more. Selected photographs and diagrams of family trees are included. The inclusion of autobiographies and biographies of several members provides personable and colorful aspects to the broader story.
