Description
On March 14, 2015, I was awoken to the sound of a distinct yet soft voice that said, “Arise, shine for the light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee” (Isaiah 53). Since I was on my way to use the bathroom, I took my iPad with me. I typed in the quotation in Google and up popped Isaiah 60. I read Isaiah 53. Then I read Isaiah 60. My whole world came tumbling down—in a good way. That’s when I experienced Jesus. That’s when I understood what He meant to me. I cried. I was beside myself. Slowly the changes began. I got the gift of healing and of tongues. After a day of prayer and fasting, the prophetic anointing came upon me. It started with writing. I just had to write.
The Holy Spirit, on that first snowy winter weekend of 2016, said, “Why are you just lying there? Get up! Do the work! Start to type.” I got up and did as I was told. When He said, “Try Tate Publishing,” as I sat at my sister’s dining table in Canada, on the coldest weekend of the year in February, the confirmation was solidified. So here I am: mother, poet, a New York City public school educator. That’s how it all began. This is “the work.” Be blessed and may He, God, get all the honor, the praise, and the glory.
