Source Book is the culmination of a life's work by Emmie 
Frank Bledsoe Lester and her son, Dr. Malcolm Lester. 
Compiled and edited by Dr. Lester's cousin, this book 
presents the material collected from 420 years of know-
ledge about Quitman County, its inhabitants, and its 
culture. It begins with biographical sketches of twenty-
eight settling families and ends with meticulous 
tabulations of people who lived, worked, served, and 
died in and for Quitman County. In between is a very 
readable history of the county, as well as its schools 
and churches.
