Mrs. Mayhue’s Scrapbook

This coffeetable sized book is a collection of bits and pieces on the American Legion Children’s Home  through the years.

“Mrs. Mayhue didn’t earn great fame or fortune while on earth, but the difference she made in the lives of the girls she helped should have earned her a golden cross that she must be wearing today. She gave her whole life to us-–a life filled with love that will be with me forever. No statue was ever built for her. I found  no record of her ever being at the Home except for two tiny snapshots. But I know she was there. To me, she was the American Legion Home!
