Description
Joe Dicky was raised in the town of Copperhill, Tennessee. At the age of eleven, his father helped him make a shoeshine kit. Joe started out shining shoes at a gas station and worked his way up to the best barber shop in town. He saved his earnings and, at age of 24 Joe bought twenty-acre property where he and the love of his life, Mary Jo, settled. Five decades later, an orchard of 2,000 trees thrives with fourteen varieties of apples, all planted by Joe. Mary Jo added a beloved country cooking restaurant to the enterprise. Joe is a natural storyteller. The ups and downs of life in Appalachia make for an enjoyable read.
